Science|Business, a European platform for research and innovation policy, has featured the recent visit of the Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences (UASNL) to Brussels in its latest publication.
On 2 June, a delegation from Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences (UASNL), led by Chair Geleyn Meijer and Co-Chair Elisabeth Minnemann, met with European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva, in Brussels. The meeting highlighted the critical role of UAS institutions in strengthening Europe’s innovation ecosystems and bridging the gap between research and regional development.
During the visit, the delegation presented their policy paper titled “Socio‑Economic Value Added Through Ecosystem‑Based Research,” which outlines how universities of applied sciences contribute to solving complex societal challenges in areas like smart mobility, sustainable cities, and healthcare innovation.
